We are deeply saddened by the loss of Nurse Jane Omusula, an emergency flight nurse with AMREF Flying Doctors, who tragically died in an aircraft accident on the 7 August 2025 alongside a flight doctor, two pilots, and two civilians in Nairobi.
Jane was a dedicated and compassionate nurse, committed to bringing life-saving care to those in need, often in the most remote and challenging situations. Her skill, kindness, and courage touched countless lives and inspired many in the medical community.
In 2021 Jane did an interview with the 外网天堂 Critical Care and Flight Nursing Forum, not long after she began her role as an emergency flight nurse with AMREF Flying Doctors. She spoke about wanting to serve humanity, and of her desire to help people in remote areas with limited medical care reach a place where they could receive the treatment they needed.
Jane truly embodied that mission and her legacy of service and compassion will never be forgotten.
